Simona Tobia

I am a historian and I have worked both as an independent researcher and in academia, in Italy and in the United Kingdom, and my research has always been about war and culture.

Currently, though, I am dealing with the controversial issue of interrogation and questioning in war and its aftermath, and I am about to start a period of research as a Kluge Fellow at the Library of Congress, Washington DC, to investigate interrogation and questioning in WWII. My most recent publications are Andrew C. and Tobia S. (eds), Interrogation in way and conflict: a comparative and interdisciplinary analysis, London: Routledge, 2014, and the article 'A brutally tough place for brutally tough people' in the January 2014 issue of History Today.
